Show Me Your Mussels.....

Recently, the family and I went on a lunch date to Nantucket Reef. If you remember this is where I went for my birthday last year. I of course got my favorite dish the stuffed cod with mashed potatoes and steam veggies. This time my daughter and I wanted to try their "Wicked Mussels".Can I just say these are now my new favorite item on their menu.So while we were eating them my daughter bought up the time when I made mussel with pasta. So I said you know what I'm going to make it for dinner soon. So  I went to my local grocery store got some mussels and spaghetti noodles.
Here are the results!!!!!

First gather you ingredients

Use the oil and salt for the noddles, while its boiling.
(Also use some of the sea salt for the end)

Boil the noodles until they are al dente
(12 minutes)

At the same time put your mussels on
(9 minutes)

Once everything is done cooking mix the noodles and mussels together.
Then put butter and your other seasoning in.(season to taste)
Stir it together.

Wala!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful......

The weather has been so lovely it's scary. So me and Star teamed up again to shoot these photos and they came out great. This time we decided to shoot in my neighborhood because there are so many areas to shoot pictures in my neck of the woods. The last post I did was around my neighborhood as well. So enjoy the weather while it's good and have a great day.

I Am A Black Woman......

I want to share with you guys some poetry that I wrote when I fifteen years old. I forgot all about this until we moved and I found it in a duffel bag. It is who I am today and it motivates me when ever I read it.

I Am A Black Woman...

I am a black woman yes I can be strong,
Me being a black woman doesn't mean I'm right ...but I'm not always wrong,
I am a black woman and I will shout it loud,
I am a black woman and that's why I'm proud,
I am a black woman yes that's me,
I am a black woman as you can see,
I am a black woman as God has wrote,
I am a black woman just look at my fine, smooth, nice, black coat,
I am a black woman please don't try to judge me,
I am a black woman so just let me be,
I am a black woman as it is written in God's plan,
Always and forever I am a black woman...

D.I.Y. Project -Designer Mugs

So the kids and I have been wanting to try our hand at D.I.Y. projects for the longest time now. About a month ago Destiny found this D.I.Y. app and the first project was to design your own mugs. We both got very excited and so I was on a mission to find how to do this without breaking the bank. One day I was in the Dollar Tree and saw these white mugs and was like I have to come back. So this past weekend I went to the store and purchased the mugs and sharpies(Dollar Tree). The kids immediately went on a search for their designs. After we design them it was time to bake them in the oven on 350 degrees for thirty minutes. I think they came out great.

Hubby got in on it too

Valentines.....

Sorry this post is late, but I thought I would share what I did for Valentines Day. So I kept wondering what to do for this day since December. I wanted to of course to go on a mini vacation, but that didn't go as plan. So what I decided to do was something simple like cook a romantic dinner for the husband. I had planned out the whole thing and then husband said that we were going to go out for dinner. So I planned out my outfit and then at the last minute he called me and said we weren't going to be able to do so. I was a little sad,but the night wasn't over. So rewind to that morning, I had left his gifts on the end table. Now I'm a romantic, but I knew I needed to bush up on my skills. So with the help of my friends and fellow blogger brownsugarvixen.blogspot.com they gave me ideas. Their ideas were so wonderful and lets just say the night ended very well. Since we couldn't go anywhere my husband set up my stuff in the kitchen while I was in the room and then he called me out of the room and surprised me with clothes, a mug and teddy bear, a candy bouquet, and a box of chocolate. I was happy with everything and he has good taste. The day before my daughter and I made her goody bags (every year this is like a traditional thing we do). She wrote and decorated the bags and my job was to fill them with treats.

Message in a bottle (one of the ideas)

His gift from the girls
His and Hers Scratch Off (another idea)
